Eligibility & Registration

Who is eligible for the PM Internship Scheme?
Indian citizens aged 21–24 who are not employed full-time or enrolled in full-time education. Class 10/12 pass, ITI, diploma holders and graduates can apply, subject to the exclusion criteria.
Who is not eligible?
Graduates from IITs, IIMs, IISERs, IIITs, NIDs and NLUs; holders of CA, CMA, CS, MBBS, BDS or any Master’s/higher degree; and candidates with family income above ₹8 lakh/year or a permanent government employee in the family.
Is there any application fee?
No. Registration and application on pminternship.mca.gov.in are completely free.
How do I register?
Create an account on the official portal with your mobile and email, complete your profile, upload documents, shortlist up to five internships and submit before the deadline.

Stipend, Duration & Benefits

What stipend will I receive?
₹5,000 per month — ₹4,500 from the Government via DBT and ₹500 from the host company — plus a one-time ₹6,000 grant on joining.
How long is the internship?
The internship runs for 12 months, with a significant portion in an actual working environment at the partner company.
Do I get insurance?
Yes. Interns are covered under PMJJBY and PMSBY, with premiums paid by the Government of India.
Will I get a certificate?
Yes — a recognised completion certificate is provided after you successfully finish the internship.

Documents & Payments

What documents do I need?
Aadhaar card, educational certificates, an Aadhaar-linked bank account for DBT, and a passport-size photograph.
How is the stipend paid?
The government’s share is paid via Direct Benefit Transfer to your Aadhaar-linked bank account; the company’s share is added by the host company.
Why is my bank account linked to Aadhaar important?
DBT requires an Aadhaar-seeded bank account. If it isn’t linked, your stipend transfer may be delayed or fail.
